It's true tigers are apex predators but even they don't like to mess with elephants. A video shared by Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Susanta Nanda shows a tiger making way for a herd of elephants in a jungle.

The video shows a group of elephants walking down a forest path, as soon as the tiger spots the elephants, the big cat sits down and waits for the herd to pass. The herd advances slowly, catching sight of the big cat but seemingly unconcerned about it.

Along with the video, the caption reads, "This is how animals communicate & maintain harmony... Elephant trumpets on smelling the tiger. The king gives way to the titan herd."

Watch the video here:

The location of the undated video is not known. Since being posted, the video has collected over 12,000 views on Twitter and several reactions from netizens.

"What an encounter. Tiger gives due respect to the mighty land mammal," a user commented.

"What a lovely sighting. Loved how the tiger paved the way for the herd," another user commented.

"More than Give Way, The King in fact seemed more interested in checking out if he could snag an unwary Little Titan," the third user joked.

"Wow! That was an incredible sighting," the fourth wrote.

The video was originally posted by Vijetha Simha, a wildlife photographer on Instagram.

In the wild, tigers usually prey on large or medium-sized mammals like deer, monkeys and boars. Instances of tigers hunting full-grown elephants are rare, but not unheard of.

Armed robbers raided the Bulgari luxury jewellery store on the swanky Place Vendome in central Paris in broad daylight Saturday, fleeing with a haul of unknown value, police and prosecutors said.

Three people on two motorbikes entered the store in the popular tourist district at around 1:45pm local time (1145 GMT), a police source said, citing preliminary information.

The scale of the damage and the loot they got away with is still being assessed, the source added.

The same Bulgari store was also targeted in an armed robbery in September 2021, the damage of which was estimated at 10 million euros.

Video footage posted on social networks on Saturday appeared to show two large black motorbikes parked on the pavement in front of the jewellery shop.

A man in a helmet with a gun and wearing black clothes is seen apparently standing guard.

Later, three men can be seen fleeing the scene on two motorbikes.

An investigation into armed robbery has been opened, the Paris prosecutor's office said.

Following the 2021 heist at the Bulgari store, one of the robbers was wounded in the leg by a police officer.

He was arrested, charged and imprisoned.

In June 2022, two other suspects, aged 26 and 37 at the time, were arrested.

They were also charged and placed in pre-trial detention.

The Italian jeweller Bulgari is owned by the French fashion conglomerate LVMH.

"Despite such assurances a large number of people offered prayers on the road outside the Eidgah ground under Delhi Gate Police Station and another mosque in a locality under Kotwali police station," said the officer, adding, the FIRs were lodged on April 26.

Police are reviewing video footage of the day to identify those who participated in the outside prayers.

Earlier police in Kanpur said they have booked more than 2,000 people on similar charges in three FIRs.

The revival of veteran batter Ajinkya Rahane in T20 cricket has been a surprise to many. Bought by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for his base price of INR 50 lakh, Rahane has done wonders with the bat for the franchise, emerging as one of the top run-getters in the competition. His heroics with the bat also seems to have played a role in his return to the national team for the ICC World Test Championship final. While Rahane has been the talk of the two for a few weeks now, former India batter Pravin Amre revealed that even MS Dhoni has been talking about the technique that the veteran India star has shown this campaign.

"We just reminded him how he came into the international arena through T20 (39-ball 61 at Old Trafford, in August 2011). It's a coincidence that his T20 performance has helped him make a comeback. Hard work always pays, when he was dropped nobody thought he will come back. He had a very good Ranji season, and got a double hundred. We are seeing the new version of Ajinkya, people are really surprised the way he is hitting the ball so long while playing proper cricketing shots," Amre was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

Rahane has always been considered a technically sound batter. But, he was never really seen as a T20 specialist since the shortest format of the game has seen players with brute force and muscle excel more as batters. However, Amre debunked that myth as he revealed how much CSK skipper Dhoni has been impressed seeing Rahane use his technique to excel in T20s for Chennai.

"His game is built on timing and he has got it back," said Amre. "Even Dhoni has spoken about his technique. People wrongly say that technique is not important in T20s. I am very happy because as coaches we always insisted on technique, it really matters in T20," Amre said.

Vatican City: In an unprecedented move, Pope Francis has decided to provide women the right to vote at an upcoming meeting of bishops. An Australian woman has been charged with fraud after she used the identity of a dead pilot in order to avoid a traffic fine, the Independent reported. 33-year-old Stephanie Louise Bennett pleaded guilty to using Sea World pilot Ash Jenkinson's identity after she was caught using her mobile phone behind the wheel last year in December.

In order to avoid the mandatory $1,078 fine, Ms. Bennett went online to claim she was not at fault. She then used information from the pilot's death notice to nominate Mr. Jenkinson as the driver of her vehicle. She allegedly found Mr. Jenkinson's full name and date of birth in an obituary notice following his death.

As per ABC, Mr Jenkinson died on the Gold Coast Broadwater on January 2 when the helicopter he was flying collided with another helicopter in mid-air. He was killed, along with three passengers on board - Sydney woman Vanessa Tadros, and British couple Ron and Diane Hughes.

When Mr. Jenkinson's widow received the fine notice just weeks after his death, she raised the matter with the traffic office and police on February 13.

After an investigation, Ms. Bennett pleaded guilty at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Wednesday, April 26 to fraud and identity theft, according to 9News. She said that she was going through "personal matters" and "financial troubles" at the time, and had tried to undo her actions the next morning ''but the website didn't accept it.''

In an email to the court, which was read aloud, she apologised "for the turmoil this has caused anyone" and said she was "immensely regretful for my actions".

Following her guilty plea, Bennet will be sentenced on May 19.

Cloud storage provider Dropbox Inc said on Thursday it would reduce its global workforce by 16% to cut costs amid slowing cloud growth, and instead hire new talent to build its AI offerings.

San Francisco, California-based Dropbox is the latest tech company to tap AI as Big Tech players from Microsoft Corp to Facebook-parent Meta Platforms Inc battle for a slice of the fast-growing market with new products and offerings.

Dropbox's chief executive officer, Drew Houston, said the company's core cloud business growth was slowing as challenges from the economic downturn put pressure on customers, making some of its profitable investments no longer sustainable.

At the end of 2022, the company had 3,118 full-time employees, of which 2,583 were located in the United States.

The company said it had shifted some employees from one team to another to focus on its AI projects, but would need more talent with a different mix of skill sets, particularly in AI and early-stage product development.

"We've been bringing in great talent in these areas over the last couple years and we'll need even more," Houston said in a memo to staff.

"The AI era of computing has finally arrived ... The opportunity in front of us is greater than ever, but so is our need to act with urgency to seize it."

Houston is also on the board of Meta Platforms, which said on Wednesday AI was helping it boost traffic to Facebook and Instagram and earn more in ad sales.

A mother and a stepfather in US' Texas have been arrested after they allegedly tattooed their children by force, then tried to remove the tattoos once authorities got involved, New York Post reported.

As per an arrest affidavit obtained by KTRE, Megan Mae Farr, 27, and Gunner Farr, 23, tied down their 9-year-old and 5-year-old children and forcibly gave them tattoos. While one received a tattoo on the foot, the other child received one on the shoulder, according to the report. The investigation alleges that the children were tied down with a rope, their mouths covered with tape and a rag covered their eyes.

However, when the biological father and stepmother saw the tattoos on the children, they reported the matter to Child Protective Services (CPS).

When the couple came to know that CPS was looking into the matter, they tried to evade arrest by forcibly removing the tattoos. They tried to cover the tattoos by "cutting, scraping, and scrubbing" the areas, and removing them by rubbing the tattoos with lemon juice.

''There were visible injuries on the child at the specific location of the tattoo and it appeared that the flesh was removed from the body at the tattoo location and this happened about the time that CPS got involved in the allegations of the child abuse,'' interim Zavalla Police Chief Lt. James Denby told KTRE.

On Monday, both parents were arrested and charged with injury to a child and unlawful restraint.

While Megan Mae Farr was charged with two counts of injury to a child and unlawful restraint, Gunner Farr was charged with one count of unlawful restraint and one count of injury to a child.

The children have since been placed in the care of CPS and investigations are ongoing.

The White House on Wednesday welcomed a phone call between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Ukraine President Volodomyr Zelensky but said it was too soon to tell whether it would lead to a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine.

"That's a good thing," White House national security spokesperson John Kirby said about the call. "Now, whether that's going to lead to some sort of meaningful peace movement, or plan, or proposal, I just don't think we know that right now."

Xi spoke by telephone on Wednesday with Zelensky for the first time since Russia's invasion of Ukraine last year. The call came after months of pressure from Kyiv for such talks.

Xi told Zelensky that China would send special representatives to Ukraine and hold talks with all parties seeking peace, Chinese state media reported.

"We have long said we want this war to end," Kirby said. "It could end immediately if Putin would leave. That doesn't appear to be in the offing.

"If there's going to be a negotiated peace, it's got to be when President Zelensky is ready for it," Kirby said, adding that the United States would welcome "any effort to arrive at a just peace as long as that peace could be ... sustainable, and could be credible."

Kirby said the United States did not have advanced knowledge of the call, and would not necessarily expect to.

"These are two sovereign leaders and we're glad to see that they did talk," Kirby said.

Nepal's civil aviation authority on Tuesday banned two managers of the FlyDubai airline from entering the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) "for spreading rumours of a bird-hit" involving an aircraft of the Gulf-based airline.

The FlyDubai aircraft, which took off from Kathmandu airport on Monday with 168 people on board and developed a problem in one of its engines, landed safely in Dubai on Tuesday morning.

The Kathmandu-Dubai flight of FlyDubai encountered a problem while taking off at 9.20 PM on Monday. The aircraft made a round in the sky of Kathmandu and reached the sky in Dhading district located in the West of Kathmandu.

The pilot later informed the air traffic controllers at the Kathmandu airport that the problem had been resolved, and the aircraft headed towards its destination, Dubai.

The aircraft had a problem with one of its engines and part of the aircraft caught fire. After checking all the indicators the pilot found no further problem with the engine, it flew towards the destination, where it landed safely.

Despite an engine problem, the aircraft flew towards its destination. But the official page of FlyDubai claimed that the aircraft was hit by a bird.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) rejected the claim, saying the aircraft didn't encounter a bird hit during the incident. CAAN has taken action against two of the managers of FlyDubai.

"As the two managers of the FlyDubai spread rumour that there was a bird hit involving the Kathmandu-Dubai flight, action has been taken against the country manager and airport manager of the FlyDubai," the CAAN said in a statement.

According to CAAN, the two managers of the FlyDubai have been banned from entering the airport and their airport passes have also been deactivated.

Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai has released a second audio clip, where his party claims state finance minister PTR Palanivel Thiaga Rajan is heard denigrating the ruling DMK and accusing Chief Minister MK Stalin's family of corruption. In the audio clip – which NDTV cannot independently verify -- the speaker is heard saying, "The CM's son and son-in-law take away a bulk of the spoils".

In what appears to be a reference to his quitting a party position after becoming minister, the speaker is also heard praising the BJP's "one man one post" rule and slams DMK for "lack of system".

In his tweet, Mr Annamalai has thanked "PTR" for "drawing a proper distinction between DMK and BJP".

A similar audio had surfaced recently, in which the speaker -- purportedly PTR -- is heard saying, "Udhayanidhi (Chief Minister M K Stalin's son) and Sabareesan have accumulated 30,000 crore".

Calling the clip "fabricated", the minister had said that "no malicious attempts to divide us will succeed". He had also said "more such audios and videos" could come.

On April 14, Mr Annamalai released what he calls the "DMK files" in which he alleged that key DMK leaders have accumulated assets worth Rs 1.34 lakh crore. The list included including Chief Minister MK Stalin's son and Sports Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, and other ministers including Durai Murugan, EV Velu, K Ponmudy, V Senthil Balaji, and former Union Minister S Jagathrakshakan.

He had also alleged that in 2011, during the DMK's earlier tenure, Mr Stalin was paid a Rs 200 crore bribe for favouring a private company get a contract to supply coaches for Chennai Metro Rail.

The rail company has denied this, saying "a fair process was followed".

The ruling DMK has denied allegations and issued legal notices to Mr Annamalai, demanding an apology and huge cash damages of upto Rs 500 crore.

Mr Annamalai has refused to apologise and denied he has violated any defamation law. He has also demanded an independent forensic analysis of the audio.

Mr Annamalai has hit back, challenging the minister to produce an incriminating audio clip with his voice.

Since the minister "is resting on an argument that this audio is fabricated, we challenge him to produce an audio clip with similar content but instead in my voice," Mr Annamalai said.

The state BJP leadership has urged Governor RN Ravi to order a forensic audit of the audio clip.

The BJP, which has marginal presence in Tamil Nadu, is also witnessing a strain in ties with ally the AIADMK.

The south party has suffered three consecutive defeats in elections it contested in alliance with the BJP, after which some leaders had aired suspicion that the BJP could engineer a split within its ranks ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The BJP has denied the allegations as baseless.

Former wrestler Babita Phogat on Tuesday claimed that fellow oversight committee member Radhica Sreeman snatched the final report on sexual harassment allegations against WFI chief Bri Bhushan Sharan Singh from her before she could read the findings in full, a charge vehemently denied by the former sports administrator.

Babita, who was included in the government's probe panel to investigate the allegations on the insistence of protesting wrestlers, alleged that she had some objections but Radhica did not let her read the report in full.

"I had read just a few pages of the final report and I had some objections but Radhica Sreeman came and snatched the report. She said since I belong to the same family (Phogat), that is holding the protest, I can't read the report," Babita told PTI.

"She was working on behalf of the chairman (Mary Kom) and told me that the chairman has taken a decision (on signing of the report)." When contacted by PTI, Radhica dismissed the charge as "ridiculous".

"Why will I do that? What benefit I will accrue by doing something like that. In fact she read the report 4-5 times and agreed to the findings. Each and every word that was written in the report, was explained to her," Radhica said.

"Whatever was written in the report is based on testimonies of all those who appeared in the hearing and everything is video recorded, it can't be tampered with. If at all I snatched the report from her why didn't she write that in her dissent note," questioned the veteran administrator.

"This is a baseless charge. In fact on the eve of Holi, all the members sat and whatever was being drafted, based on the hearings, Babita was explained each and every word and she was satisfied." Radhica also said that all members of the committee were requested to assemble at SAI headquarters on April 4 for the signing of the report, but Babita did not turn up.

"Even her phone was switched off that day. She said her baby was unwell so we asked her to come on April 5 and sign the report. Since everyone else had arrived on April 4, the chairman (Mary Kom) decided that members who are present can sign the report and Babita can do that later," explained Radhica.

The government had formed the oversight committee, headed by legendary boxer MC Mary Kom, to look into the allegations levelled by the wrestlers, including Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia.

Others in the six-member panel included former wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt, former shuttler Trupti Murgunde, Radhica and Rajesh Rajagopalan, ex-CEO, Target Olympic Podium Scheme.

The panel submitted its report on April 5 but the government has not yet made public its findings.

However, PTI has learnt that the probe panel has given Brij Bhushan a clean chit with a 5-1 verdict.

As the wrestlers returned to Jantar Mantar to resume their protest and approach the Supreme Court, Vinesh said Babita is more worried about her political career than the cause of the wrestlers.

When asked why she has not visited the protest site, like she did the last time in January, Babita said, "I was with the wrestlers and will remain with them. I am under no political pressure."

The WHO Medical Product Alert refers to a batch of substandard (contaminated) Guaifenesin syrup TG syrup identified in the Marshall Islands and Micronesia (Federated States of) and reported to WHO on April 6, 2023.

The stated manufacturer of the affected product is QP Pharmachem Ltd (Punjab, India). The stated marketer of the product is Trillium Pharma (Haryana, India). To date, neither the stated manufacturer nor the marketer have provided guarantees to WHO on the safety and quality of these products.

"The substandard product referenced in this Alert is unsafe and its use, especially in children, may result in serious injury or death. Toxic effects can include abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhoea, inability to pass urine, headache, altered mental state and acute kidney injury which may lead to death," the alert said.

There was no immediate comment from the manufacturer on the WHO alert.

Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to relieve chest congestion and the symptoms of cough.

Samples of the Guaifenesin syrup TG syrup from the Marshall Islands were analysed by quality control laboratories of the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) of Australia. The analysis found that the product contained unacceptable amounts of diethylene glycol and ethylene glycol as contaminants.

The product referenced in this alert may have marketing authorisations in other countries in the Western Pacific region. It may have also been distributed, through informal markets, to other countries or regions, the alert by the global health agency said.

The alert said that Diethylene glycol and ethylene glycol are toxic to humans when consumed and can prove fatal.

WHO advised that if people have the affected product, they should not use it.

WHO requests increased surveillance and diligence within the supply chains of countries and regions likely to be affected by these products. Increased surveillance of the informal/unregulated market is also advised. National regulatory authorities/health authorities are advised to immediately notify WHO if these substandard products are discovered in their respective country.

Manufacturers of liquid dosage forms, especially syrups that contain excipients including propylene glycol, sorbitol, and/or glycerin/glycerol, are urged to test for the presence of contaminants such as ethylene glycol and diethylene glycol before use in medicines.

Healthcare professionals should report any suspicious cases of adverse events linked to the use of these contaminated medicines to the National Regulatory Authorities/ National Pharmacovigilance Centre, it said.

Recently, questions have been raised over the quality of drugs manufactured by India-based companies. In February, the Tamil Nadu-based Global Pharma Healthcare recalled its entire lot of eye drop allegedly linked to vision loss in the US.

Before that, India-made cough syrups were allegedly linked to children deaths in the Gambia and Uzbekistan last year.

Two men who allegedly cheated a 27-year-old actor from the city by allegedly planting drugs on her and sending her to Sharjah, UAE, had victimised four more persons in the same way, police said on Tuesday.

Ravi Bobhate and Anthony Paul, the accused, were produced before a court which sent them in police custody till May 4, a police official said in Mumbai.

Four more people have now come forward with similar complaints against them, the crime branch official said.

The accused allegedly sent Chrisann Pereira, a city-based actor, to Sharjah, telling her that auditions for a Hollywood web series had been arranged there.

On April 1, on landing in Sharjah, she was arrested for drug possession. It is suspected that the drugs were concealed in a memento which one of the accused had given to her to hand it over to someone in the UAE.

The duo later allegedly demanded Rs 80 lakh from Pramila Pereira, her mother, to rescue her. Pramila Pereira then approached Vakola police who booked them for cheating.

After Chrisann's brother narrated the whole story on Instagram, four more persons approached the Mumbai crime branch and said they were cheated by the accused with the same modus operandi.

The accused sent them to Dubai with various promises and planted drugs in their baggage, they alleged.

After the complainants got arrested for drug possession, the accused asked for money from their family members to rescue them, the complainants told police.

One of the victims of this scam, Phelan Futado, is still in Sharjah in a drugs case, the official said, adding that a probe was on.

A 19-year-old youth was arrested after he allegedly issued a 'death threat' to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath from a number belonging to his girlfriend's father, police said on Tuesday.

Ameen had allegedly issued a death threat to Yogi Adityanath by calling on the police's 112 emergency number.

He was arrested from Begumpurva and the mobile phone used to make the call seized, said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ankita Sharma said.

Ameen hatched the conspiracy after being frustrated by the father of his girlfriend who was not happy with their relationship, she said.

The police contacted the woman's father, an e-rickshaw driver, who claimed that his mobile phone had been stolen about 10 days ago, said Assistant Commissioner of Police (Babupurva) Santosh Kumar Singh.

Ameen's neighbours also said during questioning that he hatched the conspiracy to trap the man as he wanted to marry his daughter, Mr Singh added.

After Ameen was taken into custody and interrogated, he confessed to his crime, Ms Sharma said.

He admitted to stealing the mobile phone of his girlfriend's father about 10 days ago and using his SIM card to make the threat call, she added.

Three criminal cases have been registered against Ameen, who will be produced before the court on Wednesday, the police said.

The Delhi University's move to spend Rs 5 lakh on a magic show as part of its centenary celebration has run into rough weather with a section of teachers questioning the rationale behind organising such a programme amid a "severe crunch of funds".

According to a poster of the event, famous Jadugar Samrat Shankar will present the show on May 3 at the multipurpose sports complex at the varsity. It also said that the programme is being organised by the University of Delhi's Culture Council.

The entry is strictly through registration, reads the poster.

A varsity official said the show is being organised to develop scientific temperament among the students.

Opposing the move, a section of teachers alleged that the magic show was a "sheer wastage of public money" and pointed out that various R&D grants and innovation projects have been discontinued due to paucity of funds.

"One should not forget that the Delhi University (DU) is not Hogwarts. When the official committee itself has acknowledged severe crunch of funds for library, laboratory, infrastructure development and research, spending public money on magic shows is sheer wastage," Rajesh Jha, a former Executive Council member of DU, rued.

Jha, who teaches at the varsity's Rajdhani College, noted that DU should be a centre to promote excellence in research to disseminate scientific temper.

"The R&D grant and innovation projects have been discontinued. The development fund collected from students was increased by 150 per cent. In such a scenario of fund crisis, organising a magic show is putting unnecessary pressure on the finance of the university," he emphasised.

The magic show also comes in the backdrop of alleged non-payment of pensions and salaries to pensioners and ad hoc teachers of several colleges under the varsity.

Meanwhile, the Delhi University defended the step and said the amount (of Rs 5 lakh) was not big as "singers usually charge Rs 40 lakh to 60 lakh for a single performance".

"Nobody has to pay for the magic show. But the entry is through registration. We are taking out money from the centenary celebration fund. The amount is not big. For big shows, colleges pay in lakhs. This amount is nothing," the varsity official said.

"We are organising this show to build scientific temperament among the students. Around 3,000 people are expected to attend the show. The magician is renowned across India and he is charging us a very less amount," he added.

Assistant Professor Abha Dev Habib from Miranda House suggested that the university could have organised a seminar where researchers could have imparted some kind of knowledge instead of the magic show.

"At a time when the university is facing various issues, money is being wasted on such programmes. It could have been a seminar organised by the alumna, former students and researchers that the university has produced," she argued.

An Academic Council member of the varsity said, "On one hand, they (DU) are seeking Higher Education Funding Agency (HEFA) loans citing fund crunch, and on the other hand, they are hosting a magic show." "This is utter nonsense in the name of centenary celebration. Complete waste of money. The money could have been spent somewhere else," Associate Professor Naveen Gaur said.

In a bid to cut down the number of car crashes, the United Kingdom government is soon planning to ban young drivers from giving a lift to their friends in their vehicles, the Independent reported. As part of the suggested restrictions, new drivers under the age of 25 would not be able to take any young passengers in the car for the first 6 months to a year of driving.

The proposal will be considered by Richard Holden, the roads minister, at a meeting on May 16 and might be introduced as part of a "graduated driving licence" scheme. The scheme could be implemented via the Road Traffic (New Drivers) Act, which imposes a probation period on new drivers who get their licence revoked if they get six penalty points within two years of passing.

It comes following a campaign by a woman whose 18-year-old daughter was killed in a car crash after taking a lift with a friend who had passed her test four months earlier. The driver, 18, was also tragically killed. Another teenager in the back seat survived the crash with serious injuries.

Speaking about her campaign, 52-year-Sharron Huddleston told the Sunday Times, "It has left a huge, gaping hole in our family. Every Christmas, every birthday, it is just devastating. There is nothing I can do to bring Caitlin back but I am determined, in her memory, to ensure that no other family goes through the pain and agony that we go through every day.''

She is also scheduled to meet the roads minister next month regarding her campaign. Additionally, Radd Seiger, a crisis consultant who secured justice for the family of 19-year-old Harry Dunn, will also attend the meeting.

According to road safety charity Brake, one in five drivers crash within a year of passing their test. It also added that new drivers carrying passengers of a similar age are four times as likely to die in a crash than those driving alone. Young drivers make up only six per cent of total licence holders in the UK but they account for over one in five fatal and serious crashes.

Other countries like Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, and some US states also have introduced similar schemes for people who have only recently passed their test.

The decision by aviation authorities to add 'jeerawan', a spice often sprinkled on poha, salads etc, to the list of items prohibited in hand baggage on flights evoked mixed responses from air passengers at Indore's Devi Ahilyabai Holkar airport on Monday, with some terming it absurd.

Jeerawan, which contains red chillies and several other ingredients and is famous in Indore, has been prohibited in hand baggage as per safety norms laid down by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BSCA), a senior airport official told PTI.

A showcase kept at the airport to inform people about prohibited items contains a packet of jeerawan along with a pistol, knife, scissor, hammer and screwdriver.

Indore-based entrepreneur Sameer Sharma, a frequent air traveller, said, “I reached Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport two days ago to travel to Jammu and was shocked to see a packet of jeerawan in the showcase. This is absolutely absurd. Jeerawan cannot be kept in the category of hot spices like red chillies."

As per experts, jeerawan is made from cumin, coriander, fennel, clove, cinnamon, red chilli, asafoetida, turmeric, salt, dried mango etc. Apart from being a taste enhancer, it is also known to improve digestion and keep the body warm during winter.

The death count in a case involving a Kenyan cult that practised starvation climbed to 73 Monday, police sources told AFP as investigators unearthed more corpses from mass graves in a forest near the coast.

A major search is under way near the coastal town of Malindi where dozens of bodies were exhumed over the weekend, sending shockwaves through the country as President William Ruto vowed to crack down on "unacceptable" religious movements.

A full-scale investigation has been launched into the Good News International Church and its leader, named in court documents as Paul Mackenzie Nthenge, who preached that death by starvation delivered followers to God.

Police had previously named the suspect as Makenzie Nthenge.

It is believed some of his devotees could still be hiding in the bush around Shakahola, which was raided by police earlier this month after a tip-off from a local non-profit group.

Since then, a number of people have been rescued and dozens of bodies unearthed in mass graves dug in shallow pits.

"We have 73 bodies from the forest by this evening and the exercise will continue tomorrow," a police officer involved in the probe told AFP on condition of anonymity.

"It is a very sad state of affairs on how these people died and were buried in shallow graves because we found six bodies squeezed in one grave today," he said.

Another senior police official also confirmed the death count, saying: "Some of the bodies were just in the forest and had not even been buried."

The count had earlier stood at 58, according to police chief Japhet Koome who visited the site on Monday.

A 325-hectare (800-acre) area of woodland has been declared a crime scene as teams clad in overalls search for more burial sites and possible cult survivors.

Ruto, speaking in Kiambu county neighbouring Nairobi, said there was "no difference" between rogue pastors like Nthenge -- who has been arrested and is awaiting trial -- and terrorists.

"Terrorists use religion to advance their heinous acts. People like Mr Mackenzie are using religion to do exactly the same thing."

"I have instructed the agencies responsible to take up the matter and to get to the root cause and to the bottom of the activities of... people who want to use religion to advance weird, unacceptable ideology."

'Unfolding horror'

As authorities try to uncover the true scale of what is being dubbed the "Shakahola Forest Massacre", questions have emerged about how the cult was able to operate undetected despite Nthenge attracting police attention six years earlier.

"The unfolding horror that is the Shakahola cult deaths should and must be a wake-up call to the nation, more particularly the National Intelligence Service (NIS) and our community policing programme," Amason Jeffah Kingi, the speaker of the senate, said in a statement.

"How did such a heinous crime, organized and executed over a considerable period of time, escape the radar of our intelligence system?"

Nthenge was arrested in 2017 on charges of "radicalisation" after urging families not to send their children to school, saying education was not recognised by the Bible.

He was arrested again last month, according to local media, after two children starved to death in the custody of their parents.

He was released on bail of 100,000 Kenyan shillings ($700) before surrendering to police following the Shakahola raid.

Another 14 people are also in custody over the Shakahola deaths, according to Koome. The case is due to be heard on May 2.

Fears for followers

There are fears some members could be hiding from authorities in the surrounding bushland and at risk of death if not quickly found.

Hussein Khalid, a member of the rights group Haki Africa that tipped off the police to the actions of the church, said one of those rescued had refused to eat despite being in clear physical distress.

"The moment she was brought here, she absolutely refused to be administered with first aid and she closed her mouth firmly, basically refusing to be assisted, wanting to continue with her fasting until she dies," he told AFP.

The Kenya Red Cross said 212 people had been reported missing to its support staff at Malindi, out of which two were reunited with their families.

The case has prompted the government to flag the need for tighter control of fringe denominations in a country with a history of self-declared pastors and movements that become involved in crime.

Interior Minister Kithure Kindiki, who has announced he would visit the site on Tuesday, described the case as "the clearest abuse of the constitutionally enshrined human right to freedom of worship."

But efforts to regulate religion in the majority-Christian country have been fiercely opposed in the past as attempts to undermine constitutional guarantees for the division of church and state.

A plane that was to carry the Arsenal women's team back to London following their Champions League draw with Wolfsburg burst into flames on the runway. According to Metro, the incident occurred on Sunday evening at Germany's Braunschweig Wolfsburg Airport shortly before a Boeing 737 was due to take off.

An airport spokesman told the German newspaper Bild that a bird strike had caused the engine fire. Witnesses said that they heard a loud bang, following which the plane was stopped. Flames were spotted coming out of the plane, forcing the pilots to abandon take-off.

Fortunately, all passengers were evacuated and no one was hurt in the incident. However, the team was forced to stay in a hotel in Germany for an extra night owing to the mishap.

Later, Arsenal released a statement confirming the team returned home safely on Monday on a replacement plane.

An American Airlines plane on Sunday was forced to return to Ohio airport after a bird strike sparked an engine fire. A video going viral on social media shows the plane returning to John Glenn International Airport in Columbus as flames and smoke are seen coming from the right engine.

"@FAANews I just saw  AA1958 with major engine issues just after take off.  Flames shooting from the engine and wonky, pulsing noises from the aircraft," a Twitter user wrote while sharing a clip from the incident.

Take a look below:

According to CNN, the Boeing 737 Flight 1958 had departed Columbus for Phoenix before the crew reported a bird strike on Sunday morning. The plane made it to the ground safely, with no injuries reported, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said, adding that an investigation into the incident is underway.

"Emergency crews responded to an aircraft incident at CMH this morning involving a reported engine fire. The aircraft landed safely and the airport is open and operational," John Glenn Columbus International Airport said in a statement posted on Twitter.

Speaking about the incident, a passenger aboard the plane told NBC 4 that he and others aboard the flight heard a loud clanking noise in the plane, with a pilot allegedly telling them they had hit a flock of geese shortly after take off.

The passenger also added that once the plane safely landed, they all were removed and taken to another flight that left later in the morning.

According to New York Post, this incident comes just days after another engine caught fire during take-off from the Charlotte Douglas Airport in North Carolina. No one was reported injured in the incident, which was later reported as a mechanical failure in the engine.

The Sudanese Army assured that it has been coordinating efforts to evacuate foreign citizens and diplomats from the country on military aircraft, as the fighting entered its second week. Army chief General Abdel Fattah Burhan said he would facilitate the evacuation of American, British, Chinese and French citizens and diplomats from Sudan after speaking with the leaders of several countries that had requested help. The prospect has vexed officials as most major airports have become battlegrounds and movement out of the capital, Khartoum, has proven intensely dangerous.

Battles raging in Sudan have sparked several evacuation operations to rescue foreign citizens or embassy staff by road, air and sea.

The main airport in the capital Khartoum has been the site of heavy fighting and is under the control of the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) that is battling the army.

Some evacuations are taking place from Port Sudan on the Red Sea, an 850 kilometre (530 mile) drive from Khartoum.

Here is an overview of what various nations were doing Sunday in efforts to take stranded citizens to safety.

Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia led the first reported successful evacuation with naval operations picking up more than 150 people including foreign diplomats and officials from Port Sudan on Saturday.

Riyadh announced the "safe arrival" of 91 Saudi citizens and around 66 nationals from 12 other countries -- Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Tunisia, Pakistan, India, Bulgaria, Bangladesh, the Philipines, Canada and Burkina Faso.

United States

On Sunday, the US military sent three Chinook helicopters to evacuate American embassy staff from Khartoum.

More than 100 US forces took part in the rescue to extract fewer than 100 people, which saw the choppers flying from Djibouti to Ethiopia to Sudan, where they stayed on the ground for less than an hour.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said he ordered the evacuation of staff and their families due to the "serious and growing security risks" amid fighting that has already left hundreds dead and thousands wounded.

Several thousand US citizens including dual nationals are thought to remain in the country.

France

Around 100 people of multiple nationalities have been evacuated from Sudan on a first French flight out of the country after a "complicated" rescue operation, a French foreign ministry official said on Sunday.

A second flight of another 100 people is expected to leave on Sunday evening, also heading to Djibouti, the official told reporters on condition of anonymity.

Britain

The British army has evacuated UK embassy staff and their families from Sudan, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said.

"UK armed forces have completed a complex and rapid evacuation of British diplomats and their families from Sudan, amid a significant escalation in violence and threats to embassy staff," Sunak tweeted.

Turkey

Ankara began operations at dawn on Sunday, taking some of its estimated 600 nationals by road from two Khartoum districts and the southern city of Wad Madani.

But plans were postponed from one site in Khartoum after "explosions" near a mosque designated as the assembly area, the embassy said.

EU, Germany, Italy, Greece, Netherlands

The European Union said Friday it was "trying to coordinate an operation to get our civilians out of the city which is now in a high-risk situation". Seven EU members have missions in Sudan.

Germany began evacuating citizens from Sudan in "an ongoing evacuation operation... in coordination with our partners", the defence and foreign ministries tweeted on Sunday, following an aborted attempt to transfer 150 Germans on Wednesday.

Italy's Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said Rome was planning to evacuate "about 200 people" including Italians, Swiss and representatives of the Vatican in a military operation on Sunday.

The Dutch Foreign Ministry said it was "participating in an international evacuation operation", with Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstra saying teams would "do their utmost to collect Dutch people as quickly and safely as possible".

Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias said the government had ordered to relocate aircraft and troops to Egypt for a potential operation to rescue Greek and Cypriot citizens.

The Irish government is deploying 12 defence personnel to Djibouti to help evacuate 150 citizens in Sudan, a foreign ministry statement said.

Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Tunisia

Jordanian foreign ministry spokesman Sinan Majali said Saturday that Amman had begun the evacuation of some 300 Jordanian citizens, adding there was "continuous cooperation with the UAE and Saudi Arabia for this purpose".

Iraqi embassy staff left Khartoum on Saturday, foreign ministry spokesman Ahmed al-Sahhaf said, while on Sunday, 14 citizens arrived safely at a "secure site" at Port Sudan. An Iraqi was killed in Khartoum "due to current events", Sahhaf told AFP Sunday, without providing further details.

Lebanon said 60 citizens had also left Khartoum by road and were "safe", ahead of their planned evacuation by sea.

The Libyan embassy in Khartoum on Friday said it had evacuated 83 Libyans from the capital, taking them to Port Sudan.

The Tunisian embassy has announced an evacuation operation planned for Monday to extract citizens remaining in the country, after some had left aboard Saudi ships.

China, India, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia

Other foreign countries preparing evacuations include South Korea and Japan, which have deployed forces to nearby countries.

India said it had two air force planes "on standby in Jeddah" in Saudi Arabia and a navy ship had arrived in Port Sudan, but any evacuations "would depend on the security situation", according to a foreign ministry statement.

The Sudanese army has said it is also coordinating efforts to evacuate diplomats from China.

Indonesia said 43 citizens were sheltering inside the embassy compound in Khartoum.

Aside from being recognised as one of the most successful investors of all time, Warren Buffett is also known for his invaluable wisdom. Now, in a recent interview, the billionaire investor has revealed a few things he worries about, and no, the success of his company is not one of them.

In an interview with CNBC, the 92-year-old CEO of Berkshire Hathaway was asked how much he fretted about economic factors such as recent bank failures and inflation. To this, Mr Buffett said he was more concerned about things out of his control than issues with Berkshire Hathaway. He revealed that he worries more about the prospect of catastrophic global events such as another pandemic and nuclear war than the success of his company when he goes to bed at night.

"Well, at 92 I've got other things to worry about," he told CNBC last week, adding, "No, I don't worry about our ability. There are things I worry about. Sure. I worry about the nuclear threat. I worry about a pandemic in the future, all kinds of things but I don't worry about them because I can't do anything about them".

Further, Mr Buffett said that he never ends his day worried about the performance of Berkshire Hathaway. "I never go to bed worried about Berkshire and how we'll handle a thing. If I'm worried about Berkshire, I should figure out something different to do about what Berkshire is doing," Mr Buffett stated.

The 92-year-old also told the outlet that he is generally optimistic about the company because he was confident of his own ability to identify risks and trends in the economy before others.

"I've got 99 and a fraction percent of my net worth in Berkshire, but I've got all my relatives in. I've got everybody in," Mr Buffett said. "If I thought that I wasn't going to be able to do a decent job of managing the risk, a better than decent job, I'd be crazy to take on that responsibility," he added.

He also said that he believes happiness and optimism are important in living a long life, and that eating his favourite food like burgers, ice cream and Cocacola makes him happy even if they're bad for him.

Notably, Warren Buffett is a businessman, philanthropist and one of the most successful and widely respected investors globally. He is known as the "Oracle of Omaha" and his investment philosophy is followed widely across the globe.

Animal videos are the most watched and loved videos on the internet as they brighten our day and fill us with joy. One such adorable video of a raccoon imitating a woman's dance moves has resurfaced on the internet. However, the video has drawn mixed reactions from internet users and sparked a debate about animal cruelty.

The video shows a raccoon from inside its zoo enclosure, mimicking a woman's dance moves perfectly while she pretends to rap. The video was shared on Twitter by a user named Morissa Schwartz which has amassed more than 12 lakh views, 51,000 likes and more than 1,000 retweets.

''Cool moves,'' reads the caption of the post shared on April 19.

Watch the video here:

While some users were left amused, others felt that the animal's dance was actually caused by psychosis due to being kept in captivity.

One user wrote, ''He seems chill enough to hang out with.'' Another said, ''Yes, cool moves, but it shouldn't be in a zoo. Anyways, loved it.''

Some termed it as an example of 'Zoochosis', a psychological disorder that can develop in captive animals.

A third wrote, ''This move is due to his confinement... and it's not fun.'' A fourth added, ''They should give me a job called “the worst person on Earth” where I debunk cute animals videos as abnormal behavior signs of abuse and captivity. I mean do you actually think raccoons can dance with you.''

A fifth stated, ''Repetitive movements caused by STRESS! It's not funny.'' A sixth commented, ''Not cool usually when animals feel trapped and scared they do these moves.''

Yet another added, ''Raccoon isn't having a dance party. He's having anxiety from being CAGED!!''

A Delta Airlines first-class passenger was arrested after he was accused of forcing himself on a male flight attendant and kissing him on the neck, New York Post reported. The passenger has been identified as David Alan Burk, aged 61, who was travelling from Minnesota to Alaska to settle his dead friend's estate.

As a first-class passenger on the Delta Airlines flight, Mr Burk was entitled to drinks before his take-off from Minneapolis. However, the crew member told him he ''ran out of time'' to serve him red wine. After takeoff, the flight attendant, identified as TC, served him a glass of red wine. When he returned later to collect meal trays from him, Mr Burk reached out to shake TC's hand, according to an affidavit.

10 minutes later, Mr Burk got up to use the restroom and stopped at the galley where TC was.

He told the male flight attendant that he was ''so beautiful', before asking for a kiss. The attendant replied, ''No, thank you,'' to which Burk then said, ''Okay, well on the neck then,'' and then proceeded to grab him and plant a smooch on his neck, making him extremely ''uncomfortable.''

''TC never gave verbal consent or implicit consent to Burk to allow him to touch or kiss TC, or to make him think it was okay to do so,” the affidavit says.

Due to the situation, the flight attendant had to move to the back of the plane for the rest of the six-hour journey.  Later, he was informed by a separate flight attendant that the passenger had damaged a tray that contained the food for the captain.

He later asked for two more glasses of red wine and became ''wasted'' before falling asleep, according to the affidavit.

When the plane touched down in Anchorage, Mr Burk was taken into custody by Airport Police. Upon questioning, he denied getting up to use the toilet, breaking a plate and planting the unwanted kiss. He, however, acknowledged drinking ''a lot'' before the flight.

The unruly passenger further denied consuming three glasses of red wine, saying he only drank the first one that TC served him and that he slept the rest of the flight.

The passenger was ultimately charged with interfering with flight crew members and making false statements before being released on his own recognizance. He is due back in court on April 27.

Scientists have discovered the reason why human hair loses its colour and turns grey as we age, reported New York Post. According to a team of scientists, melanocyte stem cells become stuck inside the hair follicle and are unable to produce pigment.

The findings were published Wednesday in the peer-reviewed, scientific journal Nature. For the study, scientists spent two years tracking individual cells in the fur of mice in order to determine how hair turns grey and closely examined the melanocyte stem cells known to control hair colour. They used special scans and lab techniques to study the cell-ageing process.

They discovered that the pigment-producing part of a stem cell would change as the mice would mature. ''The melanocyte stem cell system fails earlier than other adult stem cell populations, which leads to hair greying in most humans and mice,'' the study says.

As hair ages, sheds and grows back, melanocyte stem cells get stuck in a part of the hair follicle called the hair follicle bulge. As the stem cells stop roaming around the follicle and become fixed, they fail to mature into fully-fledged melanocytes. The hair then turns grey, white or silver because no pigment is being produced.

Mayumi Ito, the author of the study and dermatology professor at New York University's Grossman School of Medicine, said, “This is a really big step forward in understanding why we grey.”

He explained, ''It is the loss of chameleon-like function in melanocyte stem cells that may be responsible for greying and loss of hair colour.''

The researchers also suggested that if their findings hold true for humans, they could open up a potential way to reverse or prevent grey hair.

The study's lead investigator, Qi Sun, said, ''The newfound mechanisms raise the possibility that the same fixed-positioning of melanocyte stem cells may exist in humans. If so, it presents a potential pathway for reversing or preventing the greying of human hair by helping jammed cells to move again between developing hair follicle compartments.”
