US says will transfer Kabul airport back to Afghan people upon departure

The United States will transfer Kabul airport back to the Afghan people, said State Department spokesperson Ned Price on Friday (local time). "Upon our departure, we will transfer the Kabul airport back to the Afghan people," the State Department official said during a media briefing. Earlier, the Taliban spokesperson said that the group has controlled parts of Kabul airport, as an August 31 deadline for the United States is about to end.
