At least 13 dead in anti-government protests in Peru

At least 13 people were killed on Monday in the ongoing protests in southeast Peru demanding elections in the rural areas of the country. Meanwhile, Peru's top human rights agency called for an investigation into the deaths which took place amid clashes between security forces protesters attempting to seize control of an airport in the city of Juliaca, near the border with Bolivia.
