The deadly missile strike on a school in Iran’s Minab in February was caused by a "targeting mistake" by US planners, says a preliminary investigation by the US military as reported by The New York Times. Iranian authorities claim the attack killed at least 175 people. According to the report by NYT, which cited unnamed US officials familiar with the findings, the strike on February 28 hit the Shajarah Tayyebeh elementary school, killing a large number of civilians, many of them children.
